“What would you do if I cheated on you?” is a question your partner would most likely not want to hear and leave him or her wondering why you’re asking.

But in this candid interactive documentary, "The And," 30 real couples sit face-to-face and ask the big question, along with 412 other ones you probably wouldn’t want to answer. Some of the other tough questions include: “Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Think about your life without me. How do you feel?” “What do you like the least about me?” “How do I take you for granted?” “Do I seem intelligent?”

The responses include many awkward, uncomfortable moments and unanswered questions. Want to view a personalized interactive video of your own? Visit the official "The And" website, and you’ll be prompted to ask four questions, which can be anything from “How do you feel when someone hits on your partner?” to “Where do you put your faith?” The website will then string together a short video based on your answers. The videos vary in time — usually about a minute and a half long — and feature an array of interviews from the 30 couples.

If you and your partner want to give the questions a shot, there’s a feature to do so on the website. Before the game begins, you’re given instructions, and one rule: “Every question must be asked, but you do not have to answer the question. To earn the right to remain silent, you must look the person in the eye for 10 seconds before saying ‘pass.’” The rules are followed by 12 interactive flash cards featuring different questions to ask. "The And" is a collaboration among marketing agency Noise, a project called The Skin Deep, and director Topaz Adizes. The couples featured represent different age groups, sexes, and sexualities.
