Porn superstar Jenna Jameson appeared on Good Day New York to promote her new erotic novel, Sugar, on Monday. But the interview was reportedly cut short because she was slurring her words and appeared to be intoxicated.

“It was clear Jenna was out of it (at the very least)… and producers made the decision to cut off [Jenna] before the second segment,” reports TMZ.

Jameson was accused by ex-boyfriend Toto Ortiz of being addicted to prescription pills. In 2010, the UFC fighter’s lawyer told reporters that Jameson’s struggle with addiction led to a physical altercation that landed Ortiz in jail.

"When you're dealing with people on OxyContin, they don't always have the best sense of balance," said Ortiz’s attorney, Chip Matthews. "Jenna and Tito have two children together, they planned on spending the rest of their lives together.”

After Monday’s interview, TMZ caught up with Jameson to ask what happened. She said she was exhausted during the interview and did not address the intoxication allegations. But, to be fair, maybe she wasn’t on any substance at the time. She’s going through a very public custody battle with Ortiz for her now 5-year-old twin boys. According to health experts, all it takes is one stressful situation to trigger a “nervous breakdown.” And, while the term isn’t medical, it does refer to a physically and emotionally overwhelming period in one’s life.

“A nervous breakdown may indicate an underlying mental health problem that needs attention, such as depression or anxiety,” wrote Dr. Daniel K. Hall-Flavin, a Mayo Clinic psychiatrist.

Symptoms of a nervous breakdown vary depending on the person, but overall the term refers to someone deviating from their normal functionality in everyday circumstances. That includes failing to go to work, not interacting with friends and loved ones, and not getting out of the bed or showering. In more severe cases, outbursts, depression, fear, and insomnia may result.

So, while Jameson may have seemed intoxicated during the television segment, she may have just been struggling with the stress of not having custody of her sons and having to go on this media tour to promote her book at the same time.
