We should all be making a conscious effort to get the recommended amount of physical activity, whether it be through cardio, weightlifting, or Crossfit. Having said that, if you are just getting around to your New Year’s resolution, you may want to think about practicing a little safety while lifting heavy objects. A video uploaded by PitbullFitness has compiled some of the top workout fails from 2015 so far, and it appears this is not the year of perfect form at the gym.

It’s hard not to laugh at some of the blunders these meat heads make, but this video should also serve as a caution for any overzealous gym rat looking to get a good pump. Ignoring proper form is a decision that will not only make you look like a rookie, but it will also increase your chances of suffering an injury. Judging by the form practiced by the subjects of this video, a serious injury is imminent unless they schedule an appointment with a personal trainer.

Poor form will also end up hindering your progress at the gym. By practicing improper form, some of these “fitness gurus” are neglecting full range of motion, putting their spinal and joint alignment at risk, and damaging their flexibility. If you feel that your form is lacking on the squat rack or bench press, drop the weight to make sure you’re performing the complete range of motion.
