Sleep Disorder Definition
Insomnia (in-SOM-ne-ah) is a common condition in which you have difficulty falling or staying asleep. This condition can vary from mild to severe, depending on how regularly it occurs and for how long it last.
Sleep is extremely important for healthy life. Scientists and experts still have much to learn about this complicated physiological phenomenon. According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, about 40 million people in the United States suffer from chronic long-term sleep disorders each year and an additional 20 million people experience occasional sleep problems.
