Wearing a mask to the grocery store is one thing, trying to run with one on is another. As more states insist that people wear masks in public, the time could be right to head indoors for the daily workout. 

Home workout apps can be an option to help improve one’s health during the coronavirus crisis. These tools aim to guide users based on their needs or goals and even connect them to coaches to get tips and workout ideas for faster progress. 

Google Play Store and the Apple App Store contain hundreds of home workout apps. But it is important to know which ones to pick to get the best ideas, guidance and support for indoor physical activities. Below are TechRadar's recommended workout apps.

Adidas Training and Running by Runtastic 

This app provides free audio and video guides. Adidas Training and Running by Runtastic gives users access to various ready-made workouts and helps in creating specific indoor programs based on targeted body parts. 

Nike Training Club

Nike Training Club also offers free content, with more than 190 home workouts. Users can access information on how to improve certain muscle groups and to pick the right workout type based on their goals, be it endurance, strength, mobility or yoga.

To those who prefer short workouts, Nike Training Club lets users customize programs based on time.

Aaptiv

Aaptiv has a different approach to indoor workouts. This app provides voice-guided workouts to help users focus on their body during exercise.

Peloton

This home workout app focuses on spin and sessions. Peloton features live sessions and can connect people to professional coaches for instructions and encouragement. 

Each session lasts between 10 and 60 minutes. Peloton also supports other physical activities, such as strength training, yoga, cardio and meditation, and has audio workouts for outdoor programs.

Asana Rebel

Asana Rebel makes yoga instructions more accessible to people at home. The app offers yoga sessions designed for men and women.

Users can also get information on ways to improve sleep hygiene and other lifestyle habits. A premium subscription permits access to more programs, sessions and guided meditations.
