Brie Larson's Workout Training For Captain Marvel Role Revealed

To prepare for her highly awaited role as Carol Danvers in “Captain Marvel,” Brie Larson has started training really hard.

There is no denying that there is a lot of pressure involved in playing the part since this is the first female-led superhero film produced by Marvel. To guarantee all the best for her character, Larson teamed up with Jason Walsh, C.S.C.S., a celebrity trainer who put her through an intensive nine-month training plan.

During an interview in December 2018 with E! News, the actress shared in front of the camera what went into her time at the gym with Walsh before shooting the film.

Larson also stated that one of the reasons that made it easy for her to course through the workout training was that she had already wrapped her head around the incoming action movie and the set of expectations that are tied to it as she knew she was going to perform a lot of stunts.

Larson candidly admitted that at first, she did not know what it was, but she was sure that it would feel like a triathlon. She definitely was not wrong. The pictures of the 29-year-old Academy Award-winning actress taken at the Captain Marvel premiere red carpet are proof that her workout training has certainly paid off.

In a talk she previously did with Men’s Health, her trainer, Walsh, gave Larson credit where it was due. He recalled her workout, which happened five days a week. Some of the typical moves in her training included doing medicine ball slams, hip thrusts, farmer’s carries, squats, TRX shoulder exercises, pushups, deadlifts, chin-ups and dumbbell rows.

Before Larson started her training, Walsh said she could not execute a proper pull-up. However, after finishing the nine-month plan, she basically transformed into a person who does not anymore need any assistance.

Furthermore, Walsh shared that the workouts with Larson often lasted up to almost five hours a day. The sheer volume of her training significantly enhanced Larson’s muscle mass and helped her in improving her mental state.

The actress even confessed that she cried a lot of times, but did not once give up.
