Chocolates For Enhanced Libido: Why And How It Works

A low sex drive may lead to low satisfaction between some couples. Libido problems affect both men and women physically and emotionally.

A low libido occurs due to relationship issues, stress, tiredness or some medical problems, such as reduced hormone levels. Luckily, there are people in the scientific community who spend time to explore ways to address such a problem.

It has been found that small lifestyle changes could help you boost your sex drive. Adding healthy food to your diet or getting a good amount of sleep could make a huge difference.

One food that you should consider is chocolate. Yes, it surprisingly could help boost sexual desire.

How Chocolate Offers Quick Fix For Libido Problems

Researchers said that chocolate helps in the production of phenylethylamine and serotonin in the body. Both compounds are known for their mood-lifting effects, Daily Express reported.

Stress is one of the most common factors that cause a sudden decrease in someone’s interest in sex. Studies showed that women are at a higher risk of having low libido compared to men.

Here is where chocolates come in. A study published in 2018 suggested that eating a bar or two of chocolate can lower your stress levels, the Independent reported

The findings come from a review of two earlier studies that focused on the link between diets with chocolates and brain health. The researchers at Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center in California found that the sweetness of the products promotes the feeling of happiness.

Consumption of dark chocolate also gave the same positive effects on brain health. The researchers associated the health benefits of eating chocolates to the amount of cacao in the product, which provide flavonoids for better brain and cardiovascular health.

The chocolates that contain more than 70 percent of cacao showed promise to reduce stress levels and inflammation in people. It could also improve mood, memory and immunity, which could then help you gain the lost sex drive.

Lee Berk, lead researcher and an associate dean of research affairs at Loma Linda University, said the more cacao you consume, the happier you become.
