Gingivitis Signs, Symptoms And Natural Remedies

There have been a number of oral diseases in today’s time that it can be quite difficult to be familiar with all of them. One of these diseases is gingivitis, a gum disease that is quite rare in children but would often develop during puberty or early adulthood.

Do note that oral hygiene is more than just brushing your teeth regularly. People would have these misconceptions about dental health that they often get blinded by other diseases like the gingivitis.

To know more about gingivitis, it is the inflammation or swelling of the gums. Most people experience it yet not everyone realizes the urgency of this condition. Do note that 70 percent to about 90 percent of adults in the United States of America has this.

Some of the signs and symptoms of gingivitis are pretty easy to detect. These include tender gums, receding gums, bad breath that does not go away, bleeding gums at times when you are simply brushing or just flossing, reddish-purple gums and swollen gums.

These may be some of the most common signs when an individual has not been paying attention to their dental health for a few days; however, do note that if it does not go away for more than a few weeks, it is time to consult an expert.

It is crucial that you do not ignore these signs of gum disease. This could lead to other serious problems. Luckily, there are natural remedies for gingivitis.

1. Mouthwash

Aside from ensuring that you brush your teeth regularly, you have to fight off any remaining bacteria by using a homemade natural mouthwash. Some of the ingredients to consider include spring water, tea tree essential oil, aloe vera and guava leaf oils.

2. Brush and floss

Most of the time, gingivitis is caused by a buildup of plaque on the gumline and teeth of the individual. The good news is that it is treatable through natural remedies, and of course, proper dental hygiene. Always brush and floss correctly on a regular basis.

3. Well-balanced diet

Remember, your dental health, especially your gum health, is directly associated with your overall health. Bad dental hygiene can pave the way to diabetes. With that in mind, you have to pay attention to what you put in your body because it could seriously affect your overall health, including your dental health.
