Gordon Ramsay Weight Loss Secret: Here’s How ‘MasterChef’ Star Shed 50 Pounds

With a career that is built around food, Gordon Ramsay has always had a higher chance of gaining those extra pounds. The 52-year-old celebrity chef is not only known as the man behind “MasterChef,” a cooking show that highlights some of his best fiery tempered moments, he is also known for being the owner of numerous restaurants in the United Kingdom and in the United States.

For the past few months, Ramsay has been shedding some pounds and fans are taking notice of his weight loss. Ramsay even shared how he had started eating five times a day, all of which are in small amounts as opposed to having a big breakfast, lunch and dinner.

As a guest on the “Today Show,” Ramsay shared how he typically starts his morning with a bowl of porridge. He always emphasized that he would eat small bowls during the day.

As for his lunch, he admitted on Reddit that he doesn’t sit down for lunch. Moreover, he also doesn’t sit down for dinner. He claims that there is nothing worse than having dinner at 5:30 and having to get up just to cook for three hours.

“I like to keep on my toes and eat small bits. Almost like in Hong Kong — four or five times a day, small bowls of food,” Ramsay explained.

All of this motivation to shed some pounds was inspired by his wife, Tana Ramsay.

“Tana was not impressed with the way I was as I was overweight,” shared Ramsay. He jokingly said that he used to look at pictures and wondered how his wife had stayed around considering the fact that she was getting more gorgeous and better-looking every day.

Ramsay also admitted that he had removed dairy from his diet. Instead of milk, the British chef opts for nut-based alternatives like almond. To stop him from overeating, he drinks tons of water to satiate his hunger.

Now, this British chef and owner of 34 restaurants and host of four TV shows has successfully shed over 50 pounds from a peak of 270 pounds. Ramsay said that he did this because he did not want to have health problems that will rob him of his chance to see his children grow up.
