Finding out the gender of a baby is a significant moment in any pregnancy. Most expecting mothers feel that knowing their baby’s sex makes him or her more real. While ultrasounds are considered the most effective way to identify the sex of a fetus, mistakes can be made due to the position of the baby, an inexperienced ultrasound technician, or the quality of the machine.

Just ask Kyle and Danielle Williams, who were expecting a baby daughter they had named Charlee Williams. After over 24 hours of labor and an eventual C-section due to fetal distress, Kyle finally got to see the new addition to his family while Danielle rested. Kyle also became the first person in the family to find out they would be switching from Charlee Williams to Bentley Thomas Williams.

“I was speechless and wasn't sure if my eyes were playing tricks on me or not,” Kyle Williams, told TODAY Parents. “I didn't tell my wife. All I could say was there's a bit of a surprise, but she was thrilled when they brought him around to her to see him for the first time. The look of pure happiness on her face was amazing.”

Kyle and Danielle were told they were expecting their second daughter after an ultrasound that was performed on Oct. 2, 2014. Danielle went into induced labor on March 2, 2015, and Bentley was born a little over 20 hours later on March 3, 2015. Bentley’s older sister, Peyton, was just excited to have a younger sibling, no matter the gender. Luckily, Kyle and Danielle held off on painting the nursery pink or blue.
