Seasonal Allergies Solution: This Doctor-Recommended Tonic Does Wonders

As the spring season is upon us, seasonal allergies accompany the gust of winds carrying pollen grains, causing sneezing and nasal allergies in people miles away from the point of generation.

Over-the-counter antihistamines and nasal sprays are generally what people resort to when suffering seasonal allergies. In serious situations, doctors do skin tests to determine the correct medication needed to cure the allergy at the earliest.

However, there is one doctor with a unique approach when it comes to dealing with seasonal allergies. She recommends a concoction of five ingredients churned into a tonic. Dr. Taz Bhatia who runs two holistic wellness centres in Atlanta and Johns Creek in the state of Georgia came up with a drink that won’t let you miss out on any event due to a mundane spring allergy.

Watery eyes, dry mouth and drowsiness need not hold you back from living life with this home remedy. The yummy tonic addresses physiological defects within the body such as low immunity, as well as poorly functioning digestive system and liver.

The recipe is as follows: 6 ounces fresh of pineapple juice, 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon of local honey and 1/4th cup of dandelion greens mixed into a blender and served for one person. It works best when sipped on intermittently throughout the day, as opposed to taking it all in one gulp.

If you are wondering how this tonic works wonders, Dr. Bhatia explained her reasons below:

1. Bees found in the neighbourhood make honey with local pollen and contain irritants that act as an anti-vaccine, almost neutralizing the effect of allergens. Manuka honey is also good for allergies since it has antioxidant properties. Otherwise, honey helps decongest the nasal region.

2. Dandelion greens help cure an inflammed liver and improve the functioning of the gut. This is the most important ingredient because cleansing the liver is central to cleaning out the digestive system and reducing inflammation.

3. Pineapple has the same compound called bromelain found in antihistamines which eases the digestive process, so that inflammation does not spread.

4. Apple cider vinegar helps reduce yeast formation in the gut, called candida, because its presence increases levels of histamine and reduces receptivity to allergens.
