Video Games To Play This Month As The Pandemic Continues

Wondering what to play this month as you go count down the days until the pandemic ends? Here are our top picks for you.

Top Upcoming Video Games For May

Even with the imposed stay-at-home and social distancing measures that Trump’s government and public health officials suggested is nearly over and only a few days away, the reality is that there is still no definitive vaccine for the coronavirus and that cases are still continuing to rise.

This, unfortunately, means that it’s still not safe to go outside. And if we can suggest anything, it’s that to still stay inside for the time being and look for a way to pass the time. Thankfully, if you’ve spent the last month playing video games for entertainment, then we’re glad to report that May will be chock-full of new releases to keep you entertained for longer. Here’s what’s on our radar:

Xenoblade Chronicles – Definitive Edition

One of the more robust and well-realized JRPGs in the last few years, this fantastic game is now getting a Nintendo Switch release this month that includes all of the DLC since it was originally released in the Nintendo Wii. Expect hours upon hours of strategic gameplay.

Minecraft: Dungeons

One of the most famous games of all time, the once indie-hit turned best-selling game is now getting a new revamp with “Minecraft: Dungeons,” which throws away the primarily building and crafting mechanics in favor of randomly-generated dungeons ala “Path of Exiles” or “Diablo.” The next-guaranteed hit.

Maneater

Ever wanted to feel what it’s like to be the hunter and not the hunted in the open seas? Well, now you can with “Maneater,” which is an open-world (or sea) RPG that puts you in the fins of a bull shark, fighting predators and hunting for prey like seals, other sharks and even humans.

The Wonderful 101: Remastered

Originally a WiiU exclusive, this re-master comes as the game has managed to attract a cult following in the years since its sleeper hit of a release. The game lets you control a number of superheroes in order to fight off invaders.

John Wick Hex – PS4

Based on the famous movie franchise, “John Wick Hex” now arrives on the PS4 and puts you in the shoes of John Wick himself as you play through a timeline strategy game. Expect a unique, strategic experience along with inventive game mechanics.
