A woman’s sexual appetite peaks at 11pm on a Saturday night, according to a UK survey.

The latest research, conducted by Women’s Health magazine, into female libido found differences in sex drive and satisfaction depending on geographic area.

In a survey based on 1,000 women, researchers found that women from Scotland and the South West, the most sexually satisfied, at 82 percent of Scottish women and 81 percent of those in the North West reporting satisfaction between the sheets.

By contrast, Irish women were the least satisfied, with only 30 percent reporting satisfaction in the bedroom.

However, Irish women report having the most sex, with 42 percent engaging in sexual intercourse more than three times a week, followed by Londoners and the Welsh women, with 33 percent and 29 percent admitting to have sex more than three times a week.

While the UK is not known for its pleasant weather, interestingly enough, 40 percent of British women have admitted to having ‘al fresco’ or outdoor sex.

In fact, regular lovemaking in the great outdoors was deemed the ‘most exciting’ way to have sex, followed by sex at work and on the beach.

However not all of the women surveyed were adventurous when it came to having sex, as 28 percent of Scottish women report to have only had sex at home.

“It is great to see that the majority of British women are satisfied between the sheets, or outside, as our Women’s Health sex survey reveals,” Farrah Storr, the magazine’s editor was quoted as saying, according to the Telegraph.

The London School of Economics reported last year that Thursday morning is the best day for couples to get frisky because, according to researchers, that is when natural cortisol energy levels, which stimulate sex hormones, are at their peak.

Past research has also found that the level of sex hormones, testosterone in men and oestrogen in women, are five times higher in the morning that any other time during the day.
