Amy’s Kitchen did what many companies have failed to do in the past: prove that frozen food can also be healthy. Now one of the nation’s leading frozen food brands is trying to bring a healthy perspective to yet another notoriously unhealthy area of the food services industry: fast food restaurants. The natural food manufacturer plans on opening the very first Amy’s Drive Thru restaurant in Rohnert Park, Calif., late next month. Burgers, fries, pizza, burritos, and milk shakes are about to become synonymous with “organic.”

“Everybody said we couldn’t do it,” Andy Berliner, who co-founded Amy’s Kitchen along with his wife Rachel and named it after their daughter, told Time. “But we set up a test kitchen in our warehouse space and we did it. We learned how to do it from scratch very quickly. The weather doesn’t always cooperate, so one of the most challenging parts of our business right now is the agricultural end.”

Andy and Rachel Berliner built Amy’s Kitchen around all organic and non-GMO foods, and they plan on doing the same with Amy’s Drive Thru. While the menu will consist of fast food favorites, including burgers, fries, and milk shakes, the Berliner’s have confirmed that options will still contain “around 95 percent certified organic ingredients.” One aspect of the Berliner’s business plan may hinder their success. The first Amy’s Drive Thru location on Redwood Drive in Rohnert Park is only a block away from In-N-Out Burger, California’s perennial fast food powerhouse.
