Every day millions of people go on the Internet to watch videos of pimple popping. Recently, a video of another gross procedure from April of last year resurfaced, capturing a cyst removal that left a man with a large hole on his back. The procedure, carried out by Dr. Solomon Brickman, a dermatologist based in Houston, Texas, included large amounts of pus being squeezed from the hole before it was stitched up.

In the video, as the cyst bursts and pus streams out and down the patient’s back, a woman says: "You're going to be so glad this is out. It does smell like death a little bit."

The foul-smell coming from the cheesy material is common during cyst removals. Typically, these cysts are found on the face, neck, upper back, and upper chest, although they can occur on other parts of the body. The cyst can grow very slowly and cause no pain, but it can potentially become inflamed or infected, with the overlying skin becoming red, tender, and sore, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Unlike most cysts, the man’s cyst was so swollen, tender, and large, it had to be drained, as shown in the video. Brickman pulls out the cyst himself after the flow of pus stops.

The entire ordeal is similar to another recent viral cyst removal from September. A woman had her massive 20-year-old cyst popped on live TV. The lump formed after she fell over about two decades ago. The woman even managed to give her cyst a name — Arthur.

People seem to get pretty attached in that way, and those who enjoy watching are probably just fascinated with the climactic moment of extraction.
