Do you listen to music on the go? Then you probably use earbuds or Beats headphones, or something similar, right? Those headphones probably block out a lot of sound, which can be incredibly dangerous, especially when walking through a city or driving. Ear buds, when turned up too loud, can also have a damaging effect on your ears, especially with long-term use.

So, what is a person to do to safely listen to their music? How about wearing headphones that don’t even have to go onto your ears? BATBAND wraps around the back of your head firmly but lightly, and uses bone conduction to emit music to your inner ear, while leaving your outer ear free to hear the horn of an oncoming semi-truck.

It pairs with a Bluetooth-compatible device like a smartphone and features touch sensors that allow you to control volume, as well as answer or make calls.

BATBAND is currently in the midst of its Kickstarter campaign, with more than $186,000 donated to the headphones. Once the Kickstarter ends, production of the BATBAND will begin. The price is currently set at around $149 (but will go up later) and first shipments are expected to go out sometime around April 2016.
