Waiting is an experience everyone has shared. At best, waiting too long for something to happen can be tedious and at worst — such as after placing a 911 call — waiting may endanger a life. In a a new online campaign posted on Wednesday, Morgan Freeman, Connie Britton, Vincent Cassel, Thandie Newton, and Will Ferrell stare into a camera as a way to convey their frustration with “the world,” which has failed to respond quickly enough to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa.

“Ebola is devastating West Africa,” the website reads. “And every day we continue to wait — for funding to reach the ground, for nurses and doctors to be deployed, for the shattered medical services to be rebuilt — more people die.”

The World Health Organization reports 14,098 total people infected with the Ebola virus, including 5,160 reported deaths, as of Nov. 12. Transmission has been most intense in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, with incidence increasing in Sierra Leone and health authorities expressing concern for nearby Mali where four confirmed and probable cases as well as four deaths have been reported.

In late September, the United Nations convened a meeting in response to the Ebola disease outbreak and hosted leaders, including President Barack Obama, and other representatives of nations around the world. Much of the two-hour conference was devoted to encouraging increased support from cash-strapped countries for the affected nations in West Africa. While all voiced concerns about the spread of the disease itself, some spoke of a potential economic crisis that could result in the wake of this health emergency.

“Long term consequences will be determined by food security,” France's Minister of Foreign Affairs Laurent Fabius stated at that time.
