Khyrstin Andrews, 6 years old, is a girl with a beautiful smile, a big heart, and one magically fulfilled dream.

She is also a girl who was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer in early 2012 and continues to suffer from stage-4 cancer today.

"First my dream was to become a police officer and then it came true!" Kyssi said in a video posted by the Houston police department (HPD) to YouTube. Outfitted in a custom-made uniform, hat, belt, boots, and spurs, Kyssi had pulled over a speeding car (with the help of another officer), flown in an official helicopter, and ridden horseback as part of the mounted patrol.

Kyssi's story of fulfilling a lifelong dream all began when she told her mother, Marla Jones, 41, that she wanted to be a police officer someday in order to ticket a speeding driver. Since they attend the same church as a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper, Jones expressed her daughter’s wish to this parish friend. Calls were made, permissions obtained.

The entire HPD made it their business to help Kyssi’s wish come true.

"Cancer is a cruel component of Kyssi's childhood, but she still seems to find a way to SMILE in the midst of adversity," reads a Facebook page created by Jones to update Kyssi’s many friends and followers (currently, about 200,000 likes).

Though she beat cancer twice, Kyssi was diagnosed for a third time just this past April. Undergoing chemotherapy, this brave child is surviving with one kidney and two partial lungs after her various operations.

“This energetic, magnetic child is fighting this beast like no person I've ever seen before,” said Houston Officer Ken Nealy. “She's going to win. She's going to win this fight.” Recently he made Kyssi an honorary police officer and state trooper.
