In spite of your opinion on eating meat, you should know that sending death threats is never the answer. When Paul Stenson, owner of The White Moose Café in Dublin, Ireland, posted to Facebook this past August regarding the questions he receives from vegan customers, vegans did what vegans do best: became outraged.

What followed Tee Jay’s thinly veiled threat was a barrage of negative reviews from people who had never been to his restaurant, malicious comments, and even death threats (Shouldn’t death threats go against pretty much everything vegans stand for? Odd.). Instead of taking down the post and issuing an apology, Stenson took a different route, first by barring all vegans from his restaurant and then by saying they will be shot dead if they attempt to come in.

If you think that was enough for Stenson, then you haven’t been paying attention. Less than three hours after telling vegans they will be shot upon trying to enter his establishment, he issued an official apology to vegans… sort of.

What started as a not-so-innocent argument on Facebook has since spiraled into vegans protesting outside of the restaurant (who has time to do this?) and a People Against The White Moose Café Facebook page (who has time to start this?). Although neither side took the high road at any point in this battle of the keyboards, there is one thing we can all learn: If you don’t eat meat, try keeping it to yourself and definitely don’t try to push your way of thinking on someone else.
