Bengals Lineman Devon Still Receives Patriots' Support For Daughter's Cancer Battle

The Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots were opponents on the field for this week’s Sunday Night Football matchup, but it’s what happened off the field that was truly impressive. Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still has received an outpouring of support from his team and the entire NFL as his 4-year-old daughter Leah battles pediatric cancer. Still recently provided his daughter with a “pre-surgery pep talk” before undergoing an operation to have a tumor removed from her abdomen.

During Sunday night’s game, Gillette Stadium paid tribute to the visiting lineman and his daughter by airing a video bringing attention to pediatric cancer while Patriots cheerleaders sported Still’s No. 75 jersey. Back in September, the NFL announced that 100 percent of the sales from Still’s No. 75 Bengals jersey would be donated to pediatric cancer research. Gillette also announced that Patriots owner Robert Kraft would be donating $25,000 to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital on behalf of the organization.

The Patriots and Bengals aren’t the only NFL organizations to show their support for Leah. After the NFL announced that it would be donating the profits from Still’s jersey sales, New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton purchased 100 jerseys in support of #LeahStrong. The NFL Players Association has also launched its collection of “One Team for the Cure” apparel with all the proceeds benefiting Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Still tweeted that 85 shirts were purchased on the first day.
