A California mother celebrated Memorial Day weekend with her newborn 13-pound baby girl.

Kaelyn Hernandez was born at 13-pounds, 10-ounces at Whittier Hospital Medical Center in Whittier, California.

Her mother, Yvette Camberos Hernandez is a resident of Bell Gardens and had the bundle of joy delivered via C-section.

The little girl was snug and fast asleep in her mothers arms while reporters took pictures and recorded her sleeping before expecting to arrive home soon to her two older siblings.

Doctors say she was born one week early and weighed almost twice that of an average baby at 7 pounds and 8 ounces.

A spokesperson for the hospital told CBS Los Angeles the baby was the biggest that anyone can recall being delivered at the hospital.
