Diet tips for stress relief
Stress has become one of the most talked about subjects in today’s world as more and more succumb to the pressure that results in a person breaking down very often. While the reasons for one to actually find oneself in a situation which causes stress, this results in one making poor choices when it comes to nutrition.
According to several studies, our stress levels and physical and mental health are linked, and with one not taking care of the latter, this could add to the stress that one feels from the aforementioned factors as well.
So, if you are under stress at the moment, here are a few diet tips that can go a long way in alleviating your stress levels on a daily basis:
Tip #1: Most dietitians agree that it is important to start the day with a breakfast fit for a king. However, as people either do not have the time to do this, one must at least start the day by eating some almonds, an egg and some milk as well. It doesn’t take too long to consume or prepare these items.
Tip #2: Another big no-no is that one should not skip lunch but if this happens then you should at least keep some healthy snacks or salads that you can munch on throughout the day.
Tip #3: if one is stressed, it is advisable for one not to drink too much coffee but at least add herbs such as ginseng and ginger to tea, and drink it in order to combat stress.
Tip #4: Avoid overindulging in alcohol if you experience stress on a daily basis and if you cannot do without it, then you should drink a liver tonic (of vitamin C and B complex) to strengthen your liver.
Tip #5: Avoid aerated drinks, coffee and processed foods at all costs. Try and substitute them with healthier foods of your liking.
