Losing weight isn't always easy. It is, in fact, a mysterious process and, simply put, involves burning more calories than you eat.
Weight loss can be such a struggle that we start thinking we have to do something drastic to see results -- diets, pills or those weird fitness gadgets on infomercials that promise instant success. To lose one pound of fat, you must burn approximately 3,500 calories over and above what you already burn doing daily activities. But you wouldn’t want to try to burn 3,500 calories in one day.
The true secret to weight loss is this: Make small changes every day and you'll slowly (but surely) lose those extra pounds. The key is to not look for instant results and settle in for the long run. Here’s a list of five tips which you would love to follow:
1) Savor your meals. Take time and savor every item of the food you eat. This could help you avoid overeating.
2) Have an extra hour of sleep. More sleep during the night could help drop pounds over a period of time by limiting appetite and junk food.
3) Try water or sugarless tea instead of soft drinks. Sweet drinks can add up more pounds as they contain a lot of calories. So, zero-calories water is the best.
4) Develop a habit of eating three servings of vegetables with dinner instead of just one.
5) More variety of veggies could help you eat less high-fat meat. Avoid fatty dressings on foods.
