Now there is even better excuse to drink a glass of wine with your meal, especially if you are a woman. Scientists have found drinking a glass or two of wine daily can help a woman’s aging process. It keeps you healthier at the old age, cutting risk of stroke. The researchers say that disadvantages of drinking wine has been exaggerated, and results show that some alcohol consumption over a lifetime is beneficial to health.

Two studies were done by researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard University in Boston where they looked at more than 14,000 women for the last 30 years. It found that 1,499 women lived up to 70 without any major health complications. They showed no physical impairments or memory problems.

Interestingly the scientists found that drinking every day was better than occasional drinking, and women were healthier. This was because occasional drinking can lead to binging which is considered harmful for health. The researchers feel that the alcohol helps by metabolizing glucose more efficiently as well as reducing the risk of blood clots.
