Lamar Odom Missing After Failed Drug Intervention For Crack Cocaine Addiction
Friends and family of NBA star Lamar Odom have been unable to locate him in over 72 hours, fearing that it may have something to do with his ongoing drug addiction. Last Wednesday, Odom’s wife Khloe Kardashian attempted an intervention with her family to combat the athlete’s troubles with crack cocaine, TMZ reported.
It is unclear how long Odom has been using the illegal substance, seeing as the NBA drug tests for cocaine; however, sources close to him say around two years. Odom was released into free agency following the conclusion of last season. His failed NBA drug tests in the past have been linked to marijuana.
Kardashian reportedly threw the former Los Angeles Clipper out of their house when the intervention with family members failed. Odom did enter rehab last year before the start of the season. However, he left after three weeks.
Similar reports claim that he may also be struggling with OxyContin, a Schedule II opioid taken for pain relief, and Ambien, a mild sedative used to treat insomnia.
Details related to this story are still developing, and nothing can be confirmed until Odom is located. Bookmark this page and check back for any updates.
