In this technology driven time, we are connected to our jobs 24/7/365. Whether it is the constant email updates we get from our phones, the meetings that can be scheduled at any time, day or night, or the news cycle that never sleeps, many people find themselves taking their careers with them everywhere they go. Work-life balance is that mid-point that allows you to have both a social life and the ability to get your job done. Some careers have a good balance, while others do not. Career website Glassdoor published a survey from its own user reviews to find out what career has the best work-life balance.

Let’s get this out of the way immediately: If you’re a data scientist, SEO manager, or Talent Acquisition Specialist, you have the best work-life balance in the workforce. Glassdoor didn’t just arbitrarily hand out best work-life balance awards to these careers, however. The company ranked the careers based on having at least 75 work-life reviews on the site over the past year from at least 75 different companies, with the term “work-life balance” showing up in at least 15 percent of all reviews. The job needed to have at least 200 openings on Glassdoor as well.

Though some of these careers rank high on the list of the amount of time spent in the office, not all of them pay the same. Data scientists make on average $115,000 a year, while substitute teachers only make about $24,380 annually.

Although Glassdoor wouldn’t reveal which of the careers they collected had the worst work-life balance, they did release details regarding which had below-average ratings.
