Flexibility refers to the range of motion in a joint or group of joints. Some parts of your body may be more flexible than others, which may have muscles that feel short or tight, A high level of flexibility is prized by many athletes, including gymnasts and ice skaters. Though a good deal of flexibility can be improved by stretching and other activities (yoga, for example), some people are just born incredibly flexible.

Many people are freaked out by “double jointedness,” which basically just means a person has an unusually flexible joint, oftentimes an elbow, finger, or wrist. It’s not every day, however, that you see a person with an unusually flexible neck. Check out the video to see a child who does—his owl-like ability to stretch his neck is definitely interesting, but may be a little freaky too.
