Rick Santorum cancelled his Sunday morning campaign activities in order to admit their daughter into a hospital, a spokesman said.

Isabella Santorum, 3, will be staying at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia starting on Saturday evening, said Hogan Gidley in a released statement.

“The campaign will cancel Rick’s upcoming Sunday morning Florida campaign schedule. However, Rick intends to return to Florida and resume the campaign schedule as soon as is possible,” the spokesman said.

Isabella Santorum has condition called Trisomy 18, a genetic disorder in which a person has a third copy of material from chromosome 18, instead of the usual two copies.

The chromosomal condition is associated with severe intellectual disability and abnomalities in many parts of the body, according to the National Institutes of Health.

Many infants with Trisomy 18 die within their first month. Between five percent and 10 percent of children with the condition live past their first year.
