A coroner says that British singer Amy Winehouse died due to drinking too much alcohol.

Three months after her death, Coroner Suzanne Greenaway gave a veredict of "death by misadventure."

Greenway said the singer had 416 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood, more than five times the legal drink-drive limit.

Winehouse was discovered dead at her home in London on July, 23.

The famous singer had previously battled drugs and alcohol.

Winehouse's doctor, Dr. Christina Romete, said the singer had quit drinking in the days before her death after a period of abstinence, reports the Associated Press.
