Low-carb weight management company Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. is relaunching its Atkins.com website in time for the New Year.

The company’s marketing chief says it’s important for the company to provide “ongoing support and resources” for customers. The new site will be “offering a variety of interactive tools and features designed to enhance the full Atkins experience. Community members get all the resources and support to complete the diet online for free at Atkins.com – other diets can cost upwards of $30.00 per month," said CMO Scott Parker.

The new site will include more customizable options, like online profiles with personal home pages, blogs, and social networking tools, including 21 badges earned by reaching various milestones to showcase. Users will be able to create groups with fellow carb counters and engage in live discussions.

The web site is home to more than 1,500 recipes that fit the Atkins dieting plan, which has become a staple in the in the $2.4 billion weight control and nutrition industry.
