Indiana prosecutors in Fort Wayne on Friday charged a baby sitter with the murder and dismemberment of a 9-year-old girl days before Christmas.

Michael Plumadore, 39, was charged with the murder of Aliahna Lemmon, abuse of a corpse, and removing a dead body from the scene, according to CBS News.

According to authorities, Plumadore told police he killed the 9-year-old girl who he had been looking after along with her two younger sisters while their mother was sick.

Aliahna’s family considered him a trusted friend and neighbor because he had looked out for the girl’s dying grandfather.

Plumadore told police that he hit the girl repeatedly in the head with a brick, put the girl inside trash bags, stuffed her inside a freezer, and later dismembered her body and discarded her remains, according to court documents.

Plumadore was arrested on Monday and has been jailed without bond.

Danielle Edenfield, the Allen County prosecutor’s office chief investigator said she couldn’t comment on a possible motive before the case went to trial, according to the Associated Press.
