Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords will give her first TV interview since being shot in the head eight months ago in Arizona during a public event.

The Arizona Rep. who suffered near-fatal brain injuries in January has granted an interview to ABC's Diane Sawyer which will air on November 14.

"The special will fully and respectfully document Giffords’ remarkable road to recovery with her husband by her side and will include dozens of hours of video tape that document that journey," ABC News said in a statement to Politico.

The interview will air a day before the release of a memoir titled "Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope" which she wrote with the help of her husband, NASA astronaut Mark Kelly.
