Services will be held on Wednesday for a 2-and-a-half year old boy that fought a devastating skin disease beyond expectations.

Tripp Roth of Louisiana was born with junctional epidermolysis bullosa, often referred to as E.B. The condition results in painful blisters and sores due to a lack of proteins that bond skin layers. It has no cure.

Tripp wasn’t supposed to make it beyond his first year of life, but thanks in part to care from his mother, Courtney, he nearly made it to his third birthday.

Courtney captured the attention of people worldwide with her blog detailing the care of Tripp, "EB-ing a Mommy."
