Our eyes are the most important organs in the body. And vision is a wonderful gift for adding color and meaning to life. However, very often people neglect the importance of eye care and do not pay proper attention towards it.
Most often we take sight for granted but imagine the pain of having to go through life without being able to see everyday things? How will parents feel if they are unable to see their children and what about kids who cannot watch television or even go for a walk or play games?
People with certain types of eye ailments find it difficult to enjoy these aspects of life to their full extent and sometimes not at all. There are several reasons for people to start learning more about eye health and how to protect our sight. 1) Do not use hot water to wash your eyes.
2) Close your eyes and sprinkle cold water on the lids for a few minutes. Doing this every morning before sunrise will help the eyes remain healthy
3) Blink your eyes often.
4) Do not stick your eyes too long on a book or computer screen. Turn away and look into the distance.
5) Rest your eyes for a while, if you think they are getting tired.
6) Do not expose your eyes to bright sunlight. Take care to shield your eyes with a cap or sunglasses.
7) Sleep properly. Insufficient sleep can affect your vision. A good sleep may add sparkle to your eyes.
8) Drink plenty of water. Eight glasses of water a day is a must.
9) Guard your eyes from drying. Air conditioners, fans and even strong winds may tend to dry out your eyes.
10) De-stress your mind. Mental stress and tension can have an adverse effect on your body.
11) Eat greens. Have enough eye-friendly vegetables like carrots.
12)Keep your eyes clean.
