The BlackBerry PlayBook by Research in Motion will sell with a discount of $300 in the United States on Friday, according to AppleInsider.com.

The site published a photo of an advertisement sent to the news site by a tipster. It shows that Staples will begin to sell RIM's tablet starting at $199 for the 16GB version, at $299 for the 32GB version and at $399 for the 64GB version.

In Canada, BestBuy, Wal-Mart , Staples and Future Shop slashed $300 off the original price of the PlayBook, according to Engadget.com.

Canada-based RIM launched the PlayBook in April has disappointed the market, with many of the tablets unsold in warehouses and on store shelves, executives said in a conference call in September.
